The online platform is used by the University of Phoenix to delivery it’s instructional material to the learners. Depending on the degree program of the learner technology is used in every aspect of the learning process.

The most common technology tools used in the classroom by the learners at University of Phoenix are the virtual library, electronic textbooks, the Internet, virtual organizations, simulations, and the center for writing excellence. These technology tools are used by the Instructors and Learners to create and communicate in the learning environment. The Internet is the interface with the OLS system for the Instructor to present the material for the learners to use to complete their assignments. There are other technology tools used by University of Phoenix these are the most common.

These technology tools are used as the infrastructure of University of Phoenix online learning environment. The current technology tools used at University of Phoenix are Sequent servers, Windows operating systems, UNIX, Oracle 7, local area networks like Novell servers, and administrative wide area network frame relay designed by AT&T. The hardware side of the technology tools are Sequent servers working together to provide a computer framework for the organization of University of Phoenix. The software used is UNIX, Oracle 7, and windows operating systems. The networking and telecommunication technology tools are Novell servers and AT&T WAN frame relays for instructors and learners to communicate in the online learning environment.
